Natalie Portman Won't Be in 'Thor: Ragnarok' for 'Many Reasons'
Sorry, Jane. Thor is apparently moving on without you. Maybe try Tarzan?
"Thor: Ragnarok," which is scheduled for release on November 3, 2017.
In a podcast with Empire Film (via Heroic Hollywood), Feige sort of explained why the Oscar-winning star won't be returning:
"Many reasons. Many of which are in the film so you will see that. There are only a couple of scenes on Earth in this movie; 80 to 90 percent takes place in the cosmos."
What, Jane isn't allowed to leave the planet again, but everyone else is?
When "Creed" star Tessa Thompson was announced to the cast, it was taken as a hint that Jane was getting the boot so Thompson could be Thor's new love interest. (First Pepper, now Jane. It's a bad year for OG girlfriends.) But it's not clear if one of the "many reasons" was that Portman just didn't want to do the film, or that they couldn't agree on a contract, etc.
"Thor: Ragnarok" stars "Captain America: Civil War."
