Many fans aren't happy that this new role adds a white guy, since the world of "Aladdin" is a rare setting designed for non-white characters.

So far, the new "Aladdin" cast includes those two new roles, alongside Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, Numan Acar as Hakim, Navid Negahban as the Sultan, and Will Smith in the Genie role that Robin Williams made famous back in the 1992 animated classic.

Guy Ritchie is directing the new "Aladdin," which started filming in August, but doesn't have an official release date yet.

In addition to "Into the Woods," you may know the Tony-nominated Magnussen from "As the World Turns," "The Divide," as Kato Kaelin in "American Crime Story: The People v. O. J. Simpson," or as the new Russ in "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt."
