Marijan Hinteregger Biography

Marijan Hinteregger, European actor, was born 1961. Marijan has Croatian and Austrian roots. At the age of 14 he played his first role in film The Widowhood of Karolina Zasler. He studied informal acting at the Drama Studio in Maribor and signed on as an actor in Slovenian National Theater Maribor and in Celje People s Theatre. In 1991 he left his homeland.

Marijan Hinteregger worked as actor in Croatia, and Austria at the Staatstheater Saarbruecken, Staadtheater Klangenfurt and Ikarus Dance Theatre Klagenfurt. Between 1995-2002 he collaborated with the local Slovenian community in Austria as theater director, writer and composer. Marijan wrote and directed Jeungleur Felix (1996) his first short film as well as the short film Die Schuelereinschreibung (2000).

Marijan performed in the Austrian film production Hinterholz 8 (1998). Hinteregger also wrote, directed, composed and produced his first independent feature film Disappearing (2004) which screened at various film festivals. Marijan Hinteregger was on the Board of Directors of the Dubrovnik Film Festival which took place from 2003 to 2006.
